HEAT and humidity are not the best friends of makeup and skin care. Unless everything you are wearing is waterproof and sweat-proof, there is bound to be a lot of slip and slide.
But if you are not the type to just let it go, you have a list of beauty products that you can count on even during the summer.
Here is the list of our favorites:
LUSH TREE WATER
I got this toner water to help prevent breakouts but I later learned it can be used as a setting spritz after you’ve applied your makeup or as a refreshing spray in the middle of the day.
“Oily, dull or tired skin brightens up with a routine spritz of Tea Tree Water. Cleansing tea tree, juniper berry and grapefruit waters keep skin looking fresh and balance skin tone. Light and refreshing Tea Tree Water reduces redness and clears excess oil without drying,” said Lush in its web site.
If you want a reasonably priced toner/spritz that’s alcohol-free, get a bottle of this. The only con is that Lush always runs out of this because people hoard it. Tip: Keep your bottle in the refrigerator for a refreshing spritz.
MAC LIGHTFUL C TINTED CREME WITH SPF 30/PA+++
Forget everything except sun protection. MAC Lightful C Tinted Creme with SPF 30/PA+++ is a new product that offers sun protection, light coverage and a radiance boost. I like it because it doesn’t sting my face when I sweat, unlike many products with SPF. It’s called “Lightful C” because it has vitamin C.
MAC is known for its color cosmetics but I always say its skin-care line is underrated. Its Lightful line is very effective. I use MAC Lightful C Tinted Creme with SPF 30/PA+++ after serum and moisturizer and before makeup.
MAC STROBE CREAM
I’ve posted photos of this cream several times on my social-media accounts and girls always ask me, “What is Strobe Cream for?”
It’s an illuminator/highlighter but I do not use it as such. I use Strobe Cream as my nighttime moisturizer especially when my skin looks tired.
I love it so much that it’s one of my three favorite MAC products of all time.
MAC PRO LONGWEAR SPF 20 FOUNDATION
I received a press sample of this product months before it is due in stores here. It is the perfect foundation for summer. There are days when I need to wear foundation (not everyone has perfect skin) and this cream base provides medium coverage that may not be 100-percent sweat-proof but has above-average staying power.
This is best applied with the sponge that comes with the compact. I pat it gently on my skin until I get the desired amount of coverage.
BATH AND BODY WORKS TRIPLE MOISTURE BODY CREAM IN RAINKISSED LEAVES
I have developed a slight obsession with Bath and Body Works since my trip to Singapore early this year. But I started buying the Triple Moisture Body Cream after I came back from that trip because I realized they are more moisturizing than the brand’s other lotions. I have five tubes of this cream in different scents but my favorite is Rainkissed Leaves, a summer fragrance that’s fresh and light.
So what are you favorite summer beauty products?
