A phobia is defined as a persistent fear of an object or situation the affected person will go to great lengths to avoid. If the feared object or situation cannot be avoided entirely, the anxious person will endure it with marked distress, much like the way we have to endure our politicians.
From the Oxford Dictionary’s list of fears or phobias come the following:
- Air travel, aerophobia; price of the ticket the same.
- Body odor, bromidrosiphobia; also the polite way to tell your boyfriend. Burial alive, taphephobia; stuck on Edsa, taphephobia. Bullets, ballistophobia; elections in Abra, the same.
- Childbirth, tacophobia; Mexican food, taco-phobia; afraid to be impregnanted by the ugly guy you married, the same.
- Political views of chambers of commerce, worthlesssophobia. Mentally weak cabinet, cabinetophobia. Constipation, coprostasophobia. Fear of what’s inside the heads of public officials, shitophobia. Coitus, coit-phobia; short rich ugly date, coitophobia.
- The annual Sona, diarrhea-phobia.
- Dirt, mysophobia; local official, mysophobia; cops, the same. Darkness, scotophobia; likely outcome of 2016 elections, scotophobia.
- Electricity, electrophobia, Meralco bill, electrophobia. Telco service, drapocolophobia. Feces, coprophobia; official excuses, the same.
- Fear of failure, kakorfafiaphobia, rare in government because cured by media cover-up. Fear of flesh, selaphobia; rich old men, the same.
- Horses, hippophobia; fat people, ditto.
- Slow Internet, wifiophobia. Imperfection, atelophobia, also rare because when an ugly guy gets elected the fawning media call him sexy.
- Giving birth to monsters, BBLophobia.

- Fear of weakness, astenophobia; fear of stupidity and cupidity, weelectedthewrongoneagainnophobia. This is widespread today and amounts to panic. There
you go.
