IMUS, Cavite, just reveled in its 120th Flag Day celebration and “Wagayway Festival.” It is said to be their prelude to Independence Day activities which were annually staged at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit the following month. Thus, these celebrations indeed indicated the long history of the country’s epic journey to freedom.
Likewise, another institution that’s been proud of its long heritage is Aguila Glass. And they just celebrated the opening of their new bigger branch in Imus, Cavite just recently.
Present during the store launch were key members from Aguila Glass’s board of directors. These included Sophia B. Mirasol, president, chairman and CEO, Federico A. Borromeo, vice president and COO, Pinky Reyes, corporate secretary and Ferdinand Aguila Jr., treasurer of the company. Also in attendance were Imus Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi, Department of Trade and Industry Cavite Rep. Noli Guevara and Barangay Bayan Luma Captain Jun Camia.
“We just celebrated our beloved Flag Day last month and today we’re celebrating another milestone in our city,” shared Maliksi during the launching ceremonies.
Imus, according to a 2015 census has a population of 403,785 people and based on the 2010 local government unit income, it is classified as a first-class component city.
“In a report, we were the third most competitive component city in the whole country,” Maliksi proudly stated in his speech.
“We are known for a lot of things, one of them is being the Flag Capital of the Philippines.”
Still nestled along the busy stretch of Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Bayan Luma, Aguila Glass Imus is just a few meters from the company’s old branch. This time bigger and better equipped, the newly opened store is capable of handling more customers that need to have their vehicles worked on. In addition, it now has a bigger stock of replacement parts for customers.
According to giant glass head honcho Mirasol, they have been present in the vicinity for the longest time and they wanted to improve on their facilities to better serve the constituents within the area.
“Because of the growing market in the area we decided to make our services better. Whether they’d be driving passenger cars, trucks, sport-utility vehicles [SUVs], plus here the booming residential areas and of course traffic—we wanted to make sure that our customers don’t spend much time on the road to get their windshields changed,” she said.
The store already serves as their 25th branch in Luzon after recently opening outlets in Taytay, La Trinidad and Olongapo earlier this year. “We wanted to be present in almost every neighborhood to make it more convenient for our customers,” Mirasol added.
Like their other stores, Aguila Glass Imus focuses on quick service replacement of automotive windshields. This is usually done with the use of WX185 polyurethane adhesives wherein each branch can easily install a new windshield in as little as two hours. With over 5,000 vehicles in their database, Aguila Glass can replace windshields on almost any car, SUV, truck and bus on the road. They can even replace back and side windows, if needed.
Aside from providing replacement glass for automobiles, they also offer other products such as: safety laminated glass, moldings and weather strips, acrylic and polycarbonate sheets, sealants, wiper blades, and even window tints/films.
This year Aguila Glass is now on their 66th year in the business and is still ever-growing strong. Founded in 1952 by husband and wife entrepreneurs Atty. Lauro and Maria Aguila, the company has established itself as the country’s leading authority in selling automotive replacement glass.
