MOTORSPORTS fans would surely be delighted as the FIA Sport Conference 2018 will be held in the country (also as first ever in Asia) in Pasay City from June 4 to 6. Hosted by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT), other official partners for the momentous event are San Miguel Corp., Petron and BMW Philippines.
“It is with great joy for the Automobile Association of the Philippines is partnering with San Miguel Corp., Petron and BMW Philippines for the upcoming FIA Sports Conference 2018. This is an exciting time for local motorsports and we welcome this truly good news,” AAP President Gus Lagman said.
“But we assure that with the collective efforts of everyone, we will make this a truly memorable FIA Sports Conference for the global motorsports community.”
The FIA—Federation Internationale de l’Automobile—is the governing body of all four-wheel motorsport worldwide, and brings together some 245 national motoring and sporting organizations from 143 countries. Themed as “Empowering the Future: Unlocking Motor Sport’s Potential,” the FIA Motor Sport Conference 2018 is expected to be attended by around 500 international delegates representing all motor sport disciplines.
Conference delegates will examine subjects that affect motorsport promoters, sponsors and drivers worldwide. There will also be discussions happening that will cover key topics, such as creating a motorsport culture in new market and how to attract an increasingly saturated young audience in a fast-changing world. Famous motorsport personalities from around the world, including Asia, are expected to participate in the conference sessions. Likewise, the FIA Sport MotorEx will be showcasing an exhibition from companies and stakeholders of the global motorsport industry.
Industry leader Petron Corp., meantime, will be the official local fuel and oil sponsor of the FIA Sport Conference 2018. As the leading and the biggest fuel company in the country, Petron Corp. is honored to support the FIA and AAP in their goal to further enrich and strengthen the motorsport industry not just in the country, but internationally, as well.
Currently in the local motorsports scene, Petron Corp. is also the official fuel of the Toyota Vios Cup 2018, the Flat Out Race Series, King of the Nations, ROK Grand Prix, Palawan Karting, Kalayaan Race, Philippine Loop, Outdoor Challenge of the Philippines, Safe Run, Petron Rally of Champions and Philippine Motorcycle Racing Championship. Regionally, Petron has supported the Formula 4 South East Asia championship, the Rain Forest Challenge Malaysia, X30 Karting Championships and Asian Karting Championships.
Meanwhile, providing mobility service for the FIA delegates is BMW Philippines. “We are very pleased to be chosen as the mobility partner for this very prestigious event and we look forward to future partnerships,” President Maricar Parco said. Now under the umbrella of San Miguel Corp. as SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the distributor will not only provide transport to chauffeur the delegates by utilizing only the premium BMW vehicles, but also a way to showcase its exciting model lineup.
