Backliner: Zoraida Camello,
Clark Development Corp.’s AVP for Administration and Finance
Zoraida Camello, Clark Development Corp.’s (CDC) AVP for Administration and Finance, has the unenviable task of being the head for logistics of Clark Covid-19 Task Force, with a mission to source hard-to-find and sometimes exorbitantly priced supplies needed in response to the pandemic.
She is in charge of acquiring supplies including personal protective equipment (PPEs) and sanitation solutions for frontline workers in Clark, among others.
She also oversees the provisions for OFWs who have been stranded at the Clark International Airport since the lockdown. This includes providing meals, medicines, transportation. She coordinates also with the CDC Tourism Promotions Division for hotel rooms, with CDC Health and Sanitation Division for medical check-ups (blood pressure, blood sugar checks).
For the 200-bed quarantine facility that was put up at the Asean Convention Center, she was tasked to look for beds, linen, medical supplies and medicines, among other needs.
Some of these items were imported from China, but with her job to look for so many urgently needed items in so short a time, she has learned to tap a wide network in order to get the best deal, considering the scarce resources.
