PUSHING for excellency in the children’s protection and development thrust of the local government, Mayor Jaime R. Fresnedi recently delivered his 2017 Local State of Children’s Report before students and youth organizations.
“In Muntinlupa our children are safe and have access to quality education, health and protection services from the city government,” the local executive said in the event held at the Muntinlupa City Hall Quadrangle in Putatan.
Fresnedi underscored his administration’s initiatives in implementing programs and services on child survival, child development, child protection and child participation.
He also discussed improvements on health indicators among children and expansion of scholarship programs with almost 40,000 beneficiaries in elementary and high school.
The mayor then highlighted local ordinances for the protection of children, and the local government’s effort to give representation for children in development councils.
Recently, Muntinlupa was adjudged as the Most Child-Friendly City in National Capital Region by the Regional Committee for the Welfare of Children.
It, likewise, received the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance for its outstanding programs on children’s welfare and development.
Muntinlupa qualified as a national finalist and is vying for the Most Child Friendly in the Philippines–Presidential Award.
Further, the Early Childhood Care and Development Council (ECCD) recognized this locality as an ECCD Champion for its outstanding early childhood education and development programs.
Fresnedi said his administration puts prime importance to the protection of children’s rights, and is in the midst of transforming Muntinlupa into a safe and livable city for the youth.
