FROM the moment we wake up every morning, we are waiting.
We wait in line for the comfort room, wait for the water to boil for coffee and for bathing, wait for the rice to be cooked and wait for our mother or father to give us our allowances.
From home we wait for a school bus or in the line of UV or Jeepney, wait for the car to move after getting stuck in a traffic jam or wait for the school bell for recess time or for going home. Other times, we are waiting for a crush to pass by and wave at you.
At night we wait for the time to fall asleep.
These are few instances of waiting we face in our daily lives. But why, of all these kinds of waiting there is one that is a great big deal to everybody: the moment in which we are waiting for the right person to be our partner in life or the one who will truly love us.
Some of us can’t wait for the right time. So many of us go on a fling even if the relationship is not meant for each other or what we call “meant to be.” That’s why they get hurt and become bitter when they are left for somebody. Some got mad at everybody, even to those who are not part of the situation. They also get mad on the word “forever,” when they are broken hearted.
Nowadays everybody likes to follow a trend and considers it a big loss if they can’t, for example, being in a relationship. Some would feel not having a boyfriend they are not pretty enough to get hitched. This is why when someone court a girl even if they are not familiar to each other as long as he is handsome or she is pretty it’s okay. They get into it just to prove that he or she is in a relationship.
The art of waiting is fading.
We need to accept that waiting plays a part of our daily lives, so we need to wait for God’s perfect time, for the right place with the right person to avoid getting hurt over and over again.
