THE Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the same Filipino-owned group distributing Chevrolet and Volvo vehicles in the Philippines, was recently appointed as the new official distributor of MG (Morris Garages) brand. With the addition of the British marque in its line-up, TCCCI now has more choices to offer top-quality vehicles combined with an attractive value proposition to car buyers.
Driven to establish its position in the local market, the TCCCI-helmed MG Philippines is set to energize the automotive scene with the introduction of six all-new models by the end of 2019. These models will represent the known MG brand heritage and will be offered in a wide range of vehicle segments designed to meet every customer’s personal needs and preferences. Further, TCCCI is determined to establish 16 independent dealerships with aftersales service nationwide. For starters, nine upcoming dealers with vast experience in the automotive business have already been confirmed and will start operation by first semester of next year.
While the dealer network is being established, MG owners will still have access to aftersales service through a string of independent MG Philippines-accredited service outlets. Come 2019, there will be a ‘Mobile Garage’ service caravan that will offer regular preventive maintenance servicing. Other upcoming innovative service platforms are the ‘1-Hour Max and Go’ for that fast one-hour basic maintenance service procedure available through 24/7 customer care hotline, ‘MG HERO Services’ for 24/7 roadside assistance, and ‘Mobile Gadget’ which allows users to pair their MG to a proprietary smartphone app capable to closely monitor the car’s running stats for service appointments.
In order to strengthen MG Philippines’ introduction into the local market, a strategic marketing plan targeting key markets and demographics has been implemented. This year’s last quarter alone, MG Philippines has already commenced six pop-up concept road shows taking place in leading malls nationwide.
Meanwhile, MG Philippines’ re-entry to the local market also came with the introduction of three exciting new passenger vehicles. Leading the pack was the new MG RX5 compact SUV embodying class, power, and functionality with driving dynamics that allow it to easily navigate through various terrain. Powered by an efficient 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 162 hp and 250 N-m of maximum torque, it is mated to a seven-speed double clutch automatic transmission offering smooth and seamless power delivery. The MT ‘Style’ variant is priced at P1,058,888 while the AT ‘Style’ version is valued at P1,228,888.
Next was the new MG ZS crossover SUV with distinct design elements such as ‘London Eye’ headlights, a ‘Stardust’ front grille, and ‘Plough’ taillights for that head-turner character. Motivation comes from a1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 114 hp and 150 N-m of maximum torque. There are three variants available. The MT ‘Style’ version is priced at P818,888 while the AT ‘Style’ version is valued at P868,888. The AT ‘Alpha’ edition, meantime, is being offered at P998,888.
Not present but certainly will hit the showroom soon is the new MG6 fastback sedan as the brand’s new take on sport and luxury. Its athletic exterior persona is matched with an eye-catching and elegant interior. Power comes from an efficient, 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine generating 162 hp and 250 N-m of maximum torque. The AT ‘Alpha’ version is being offered at P1,068,888 while the AT ‘Trophy’ edition is valued at P1,188,888.
