AFTER establishing a strong business presence in the cities of Makati, Mandaluyong and Pasig, upscale property developer Rockwell Land Corp. is now going to San Juan City.
Through its newly formed subsidiary Retailscapes Inc., the property development unit of the Lopez group is currently developing the Santolan Town Plaza.
Rachel Anne Varilla, marketing supervisor-commercial of Rockwell Land, said the entry of the company into San Juan is aimed to provide the residents the conveniences and camaraderie of modern living.
“When we envisioned the retail landscape, we had the families living in the nearby exclusive subdivisions in mind. We want the residents to have an ideal neighborhood spot to dine with friends or bond with the family in a place that’s close to home and embodies Rockwell’s signature brand of lifestyle. This goes beyond the residents but anyone in the Metro looking for fresh retail offerings in the San Juan scene,” Varilla explained in an e-mail interview with the BusinessMirror.
Varilla described the 1.4-hectare Santolan Town Plaza as a place that promotes business and lifestyle. She said the place is ideal for small to medium enterprises with floor cuts starting at 170 square meter up to 2,000 sq m. Furthermore, the strategic location of the business and leisure site will also give advantages to the prospective locators. “It’s a great alternative for entrepreneurs who wish to veer away from the congested CBDs [central business district] while still having a selection of conveniences within reach,” Varilla said.
By locating to Santolan Town Plaza, Retailscapes hopes to bring new opportunities to upcoming entrepreneurs. She hopes the location will also encourage people to interact with the entrepreneurs of the community.
She said office locators can be assured of work environment that’s conveniently situated in a one-stop-shop-lifestyle center with curated retail amenities. Retailscapes, according to Varilla, will have casual dining restaurants, cafés, service establishments, a grocery and cinemas that can easily be accessed by employees seeking to squeeze in errands during the day or catch up with friends over dinner. Overall, Varilla said it’s the perfect setting for a balance of work and leisure to thrive.
Santolan Town Plaza will over 40 shops and restaurants, as well as four cinemas. Retail tenants include Rustan’s Marketplace, Fully Booked with Press Café, Pancake House, Active Fun and True Value.
The rental rate for office spaces is P500 per sq m. Varilla said it is still within the range if not close to the rates offered by nearby office buildings. “Our offices are paired with handpicked retailers and services that are parallel to the quality of any other Rockwell-managed development,” she said.
Just like the other developments, Varilla said Rockwell Land believes that Santolan Town Plaza will create an impact in the community for both business and leisure. She pointed out that the best practices in other projects have been applied in the San Juan City project.
