ACTRESS, TV host and endorser Alex Gonzaga was recently embroiled in a controversy involving one of her videos, for which she has already apologized.
On the sidelines of an event for the new Block & White Sakura White, Gonzaga explained that her apology was sincere and the experience “was something I learned a lot from.”
“I understand those who watched my channel for the very first time wouldn’t understand that things like that are something I do often. The situations are ‘mounted’ in that the people know beforehand what will happen. I don’t know how they will react but they do know what will happen,” said Gonzaga.
The only people who are “ambushed” when Gonzaga shoots her videos are her parents, her sister Toni and her boyfriend.
For everyone else, permission is first obtained.
“But that’s not an excuse. What I’ve learned is that not all people will react the same way when they watch my vlogs. I’ve also been reminded that I have fans who are minors and I need to be more responsible. Now I know that while my YouTube channel is my creative outlet, I also need to be careful,” said Gonzaga.
“I also need to post disclaimers for content such as the ones that offended people in the past,” she added.
Gonzaga has been an endorser of Block & White for quite some time. She said she likes the product because it moisturizes her skin, leaves it smelling good and is not expensive.
The TV host always has a bottle or two in her car, another in her purse and, of course, one at home.
“It really works when I’m on the go and I need to moisturize my skin. The bottle is so handy so it’s no trouble to put in your purse.”
“Block & White Sakura White, the brand’s newest variant, has Sakura flower petals to effectively soften your skin and eliminate dryness from lack of moisture and exposure to pollution and other environmental aggressors.
“It combats dullness and gives you a healthy glow to complement your fair skin. With whitening vitamins, such as Vitamin B3, it improves your skin’s tone and texture for a more even complexion,” says Block & White in a press release.
Block & White Sakura White has whitening benefits and SPF 20PA++ to protect skin from UVA/UVB rays. It’s available at all leading department stores and drugstores nationwide, and from Lazada and Shopee.
I recently got to try Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel, a water-light daily use Japanese sunscreen gel. It has SPF 50+ and PA++++ for UVA/UVB protection. The newly upgraded sunscreen gel, compared to the 2015 formula, is now resistant to water and sweat but has retained the same weightless, water-gel texture and fresh finish. It has UV protection-enriched water capsules that turn the gel into a uniform, water-like protective veil when applied.
Bioré (www.facebook.com/BiorePH) has also added “light correction powder” to give the skin a light-diffusing effect for a fresh, brightened look, while the blend of hyaluronic acid, royal jelly and “Mix Citrus Essence” helps the skin retain moisture and softness. The water-light gel provides durable protection against daily UV exposure without leaving a sticky or white residue.
I’ve always been asked what the best anti-aging product is and my reply is unchanged. If you want younger-looking skin, always wear sunblock. For me, Bioré is one of the best options out there because you know it was manufactured by a reputable Japanese company. Most of their products cost less than P500 and are widely available.
I’m actually hesitant to use sunscreen products that are very inexpensive because I am not sure what ingredients are in them, but I’ve been buying Bioré for a couple of years now and the brand hasn’t failed me yet.
OK, I’ve talked about UVA/UVB protection twice in this column. What is UVA/UVB and why is it important that you’re protected from them? It’s not just about beauty and aging.
“Both UVA and UVB penetrate the atmosphere and play an important role in conditions such as premature skin aging, eye damage [including cataracts] and skin cancers. They also suppress the immune system, reducing your ability to fight off these and other maladies,” said www.skincancer.org in an article.
In the Philippines, Bioré is distributed by Vibelle Distribution.
