Converge ICT Solutions Inc. said on Tuesday it was able to hit its target of rolling out two million fiber ports in 2022 with its chief saying that this makes the broadband provider’s network the “largest” fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) in the Philippines.
Dennis Anthony Uy, the company’s CEO, said Converge’s FTTH deployment last year, which covers Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, is “a record” for the broadband provider.
“Converge continues to expand its nationwide network reach to efficiently deliver consumer network demands and empower Filipinos across urban and rural areas. With this record deployment of ports, we are ensuring high availability in more areas around the country,” he said.
The listed company put a particular premium on its deployment in the National Capital Region (NCR) including Rizal, North and Central Luzon, as well as Mindanao. Converge also maintained its “aggressive rollout in the Visayas” as it continued to seek growth opportunities in the region, he added.
“Achieving our fiber rollout target is very much important for us to ensure that our resources are utilized effectively and to also support the growth of our residential subscriber base.” Converge extended its fiber footprint last year to more than 613,000 kilometers.
