For the Metrobank Group, 2021 was a meaningful year of service to the community as it continues to extend a helping hand to various localities affected by the pandemic and the typhoon.
Metrobank and Metrobank Foundation recently launched the #MetrobankHelpingHands “Community Food Assistance” program to provide locally produced food packs to various community pantries in the country. This donation program was made possible because of the initiative of more than 14,000 Metrobank employees to raise funds to distribute packs of rice, vegetables, and dried fish to over 6,500 indigent families from far flung areas in Luzon, Visayas, and even Mindanao.
The donations were distributed amongst fifteen sites in twelve provinces nationwide, which include NCR, Cavite, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Cebu, Iloilo, Leyte, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, Iligan, and Basilan. This was done in partnership with the Tanging Yaman Foundation, Metrobank Purple Hearts Club local chapters, local government units, and other partner organizations of the Metrobank Foundation.
While for Mindanao, 2,000 families from Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Basilan and Bukidnon also served as beneficiaries of the program.
Apart from the Community Food Assistance program, the Metrobank and GT Capital Holdings Group is also all hands on deck to aid our kababayans affected by typhoon “Odette.” Through the Metrobank Foundation and GT Foundation, a total donation of PhP 6 million will be provided as relief assistance to the affected families.
