As part of BusinessMirror’s campaign to promote everyone’s safety and well-being during the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have invited established and independent artists to perform at least one song in their own homes while urging everyone to stay indoors.
Formed in 2016, the Manila-based alternative pop rock band called Unit 406 is composed of Gabriel Tagadtad and Chen Pangan on guitars and vocals, Ash Vanguardia on bass, Tim Sison on drums and TJ Hollon on keyboards.
The group was a finalist in the 2017 Himig Handog mutimedia songwriting and music video competition and placed fifth overall for their entry, “Tanghaling Tapat.”
In 2018, Unit 406 was nominated for Best Performance by a New Group Recording Artist in the Awit Awards.
Citing The Beatles, U2, My Chemical Romance, Black Sabbath and Mew as among their diverse influences, the band describes their music as “full of fun, wit and the occasional hugot of emotion” as typified by songs that people would consider as “the soundtrack of their lives.”
One such example is their latest single, “Tala,” a soaring rocker about finding one’s purpose, which they’re performing for SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine.
