AFTER completing its first green building in Bonifacio Global City, major green developer ArthaLand recently raised the bar in green development when it launched the Sevina Park—the first development in the country that will aim for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Neighborhood Development and LEED Home Certifications.
“We are excited to launch our highly anticipated first horizontal project that will serve as a testament that neighborhood developments designed to protect and preserve the natural environment, while simultaneously enhancing quality of life can be done in the country,” said Jaime C. González, vice chairman and president and CEO of ArthaLand during the press briefing held in Biñan City in Laguna.
“And as with all next generation of ArthaLand projects, Sevina Park reinforces our commitment to world-class sustainable development,” added González.
Being a green project, González stressed that ArthaLand will allocate a 60 percent open space for Sevina Park that will have generous areas for walkways, pathways, swimming pools and other amenities to ensure that future residents will have the convenience just to walk to get to their destinations.
“Once development is completed, you will have a seven-minute walk to your destination,” González pointed out.
ArthaLand tapped Boston-based global design firm Sasaki Associates Inc. Sevina Park to develop a community master plan to the 8.1-hectare project that is envisioned to become a sustainable, close-knit neighborhood that will be conveniently located a few minutes from the soon to open Laguna Boulevard interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
Christopher G. Narciso, executive vice president for project and business development of ArthaLand described that Sevina Park will be a modern-day community that will have an array of diverse and exceptionally designed components with the commercial portion consisting of neighborhood retail and landmark green offices. Furthermore, its residential portions will consist of a comfortable dormitory that will cater to nearby schools, a set of idyllic low-rise apartments and lofts, and a townhouse villa component with limited-edition designer homes by the famous firm Leandro V. Locsin and Partners.
Scheduled for turnover in the second quarter of 2021, Sevina Park will be composed of masterfully crafted two, three and four- bedroom villas that will open up to expansive courtyard gardens within each block.
“The villas will have each own courtyard garden. It will be a first of its kind garden in the development of horizontal homes,” Narciso said.
“Sevina” is a coined word that means life as a foundation for new beginnings. Meanwhile, the word “Park,” stresses the design and emotional aspect of a quaint, mixed-use community with open areas, shared gardens, enveloping courtyards, scenic streetscapes, and an abundance of lush greenery for interaction, convergence and community engagement.
ArthaLand will equip Sevina Park with the conveniences of modern living as all the villas will be equipped with an energy efficient building envelope; efficient lighting, energy and water fixtures; and will be Wi-Fi enabled and home automation ready.
Meanwhile, the exclusive four-bedroom Villa 170 unit type will have additional sustainable features such as a provision for solar power systems, enhanced indoor air quality by mechanical exhaust and the use of FSC-certified wood, which qualify them to become the first LEED Certified Home in the country.
“We are a boutique developer not in relation to size, but because of our attention to detail and desire to push the envelope in green development. We are proud to say that Sevina Park is a carefully and thoughtfully curated sustainable community that will be the first of its kind in the country,” said Leonardo T. Po, executive vice president and treasurer of ArthaLand.
“Sevina Park pushes further the development on sustainability which means optimized consumption of water and energy and recycle waste,” Po added. Lots sizes in Sevina Park are 100 square meters, 137 sq m and 160 sq m.
During the launch, officials of ArthaLand also inaugurated the Sevina Park tree nursery and composting facility.
Moreover, ArthaLand and the World Wide Fund for Nature conducted a tree-planting activity of endemic and endangered trees. It was participated in by management and directors of ArthaLand, VIPs from WWF, LV Locsin and Partners and directors of the Philippine Green Building Council.
ArthaLand also announced the partnership with the WWF to help them in improving the environment and community around Sevina Park. Under the partnership, WWF will assist ArthaLand in adding more lush greenery; promote biodiversity and helping save threatened plant species in the Philippines. “This is our commitment to the environment,” said González.
