SOFTWARE provider Amdocs is equipping Filipino telco Globe Telecom Inc. with a network solution that will help the latter modernize and automate its platforms and processes for its enterprise business more efficiently.
As part of its five-year deal with Globe, Amdocs is now integrating its network functions virtualization (NFV) orchestration solution into Globe’s network, allowing the telco to provide its enterprise clients with “highly flexible and scalable cloud-based network services.”
This means Globe will be able to automate the operations and management of its Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) product for a range of network services, including Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), security services, bandwidth on-demand, mobile core network related services (vEPC and vIMS), and other value-added applications. “Globe Telecom is accelerating their enterprise business growth by addressing their customers’ needs to better serve the digital society of tomorrow,” Amdocs President Anthony Goonetilleke said in a statement. Globe Chief Technology and Information Officer Gil B. Genio said his group will benefit largely from the “flexibility and scalability of NFV” as it can streamline the way the company interacts with its enterprise clients. “It will allow us to empower our enterprise customers with simpler and faster on-demand provisioning of network services that they can customize to better serve their end-customers,” he said.
