4th Sunday of Lent: John 3:14-21
“For God loved the world so much that he gave His only Son, that all trusting in Him might not be destroyed but might have eternal life.”
This ultimate promise is our invitation to come to Him because He already gave. His love has no limits that He freely gave us a supreme gift. We were given a clear pathway to lay down the “darkness” so He can cast it away and make us new through the “light”—Jesus Christ.
We have our own experiences of darkness as we go about our days. It may seem bleak as we encounter failure, loss, fear, devastation and desperation. They can last for days, months or even years. At one point (or several), we may have been prompted to ask “if God loved the world, then why do bad things happen to me?”
I want you to understand that bad or evil comes only from Satan, not from God. We cannot simply blame God for all the evil in our lives. The bible also tells us that, someday, all evil will be banished because God has triumphed.
And most timely and helpful to what you are feeling right now is that He sees us through and gives us victory over the bad things. So, if you are facing problems right now, face it with God. We are always stronger with Him alongside us.
God is not interested in a one-time experience with us. He desires a relationship with us. Today and each day we wake up, God patiently waits for us to come, and listen to him and to simply be with Him! Let us strive to commit ourselves in seeking God as we embrace the reality of His presence. As we surrender ourselves to Him, we are filled with a sense of peace—a peace that transcends beyond human understanding.
Believe with all your heart that, as long as we surrender to God’s will, all is well, everything is working according to His divine plan. His love is so great and easily attainable. All we need to do is to accept and believe that the light is in our life.
