VOTERS are expected to have an easier time looking for their precinct in the upcoming polls with the inclusion of their photos in the Posted Computerized Voters List (PCVL) of the Commission on Elections.
Comelec Chairman George M. Garcia said they plan to implement the new measure during the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).
“When they are looking for their names in the voters list outside of the precincts, even if [in the list] of the PPCRV (Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting), it will include [their] picture,” Garcia said in a press briefing last week.
Before this announcement, PCVLs only included the names of voters.
Only the Electoral Boards through their Book of Voters have access to the pictures of voters.
Garcia also gave assurances that the Comelec Precinct Finder will be operational on their website during the 2025 NLE to help voters.
“They [can use] it to check if they are a registered voter, where they are registered, and where they will vote with the precinct finder in the Comelec website,” he added.
