In an effort to enhance the educational experience of Kinder to Grade 12 public school students in San Juan City, some 13,000 pairs of customized-rubber shoes were distributed to all learners on Monday.
Zamora said that this transformative initiative to distribute customized rubber shoes is first in the history of San Juan City, a key component of the city’s comprehensive education program, which aims to provide students with essential resources for their academic journey.
The shoes that the students received were specially designed and manufactured for the San Juan students.
Building on the success of last year’s distribution of black school shoes to pre-school and daycare students, the provision of rubber shoes will complete the school uniforms of San Juan City public school students.
Over the past two years, students have been benefitting from the local government’s -provided free school and P.E. uniforms, and the addition of the customized rubber shoes will complete their school wardrobe.
Zamora emphasized the importance of equipping students with the necessary tools for success and creating an environment conducive to learning and growth.
The distribution of rubber shoes, along with other initiatives, such as free laptops and tablets for students and teachers, free fiber optic internet connection in classrooms and households of students, and smart TVs in classrooms, reflects the city’s commitment to advancing education and empowering its youth.
Again, our deepest gratitude for the city government of San Juan.”
