What a heartwarming turnout when the subject of complaint became the most deserving recipient of help.
In the episode ‘CIA with BA’ on Sunday, June 4, two women (Soledad and Margie) sought the help and advice of the public service program about a woman (Nanay Feliza) taking care of her son (Alvin) who’s causing disturbances in the neighborhood. Alvin, however – as claimed by Nanay Feliza – has a mental condition.
More than coming to the show as victims, Soledad and Margie seemed to care for the welfare of the elderly, Alvin, and the neighborhood.
Senator Pia Cayetano pointed out that everyone in the community has a right to peace and dignity. “Sa maniwala kayo o sa hindi, nasa batas ‘yan,” she said.
“Kayo bilang isang dakilang nanay, may karapatan kang makuha ang respeto ng mga kasama [at kapitbahay] mo,” Sen. Pia told Nanay Feliza. “‘Yung anak mo rin, may karapatan din na ganon, na alagaan ng komunidad.”
“At kayo rin may karapatan rin kayong respetuhin at magkaroon ng katahimikan,” she also told the complainants.
As the program’s initiative, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano convinced Nanay Feliza to take Alvin to a mental health expert and to have herself checked by a health expert too, since she’s already 72.
CIA with BA continues the legacy of Senator Rene Cayetano, the late father of the sibling senators, .
The senior Cayetano was a renowned lawyer who gained fame through his radio and TV program ‘Compañero y Compañera,’ which aired from 1997 to 2001.
