Nostalgia takes center stage at Newport World with a world-class concert full of timeless music.
The all-time favorite OPM band Side A is back for an epic encore dedicated to their fans from every generation, following the sold-out success of the Redux 360 Experience last September 2022. Then & Now: Side A (The Repeat) will once again shine the spotlight on both original and newer members at the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) on June 1, 2023 at 8 PM.
Side A grew from humble beginnings performing at the Hyatt-Calesa Bar and Lounge to bigger and bolder stages as they rose to fame in the 90s with iconic tracks such as “Forevermore,” “Hold On,” and “By Your Side.” Founding brothers Rodel Gonzalez (lead vocals) and Naldy Gonzalez (keyboards and vocals) were later joined by Mar Dizon (drums), Pido Lalimarmo (guitars and vocals), Joey Benin (bass), and Kelly Badon (lead guitars). Even through many changes since their start in 1985, the longstanding band bagged two Awit Awards and a triple platinum album.
For nearly four decades, the Philippine’s premiere band continues to captivate the minds and souls of listeners, past and present, across their pop, rock, and R&B genres with original lyrics that tug at the heartstrings. Now, original member Naldy together with a new generation of band members, Ned Esguerra (bass guitar), Yubs Esperat (lead vocals), and Lee Von Cailao (lead guitar), take on the OPM legacy in this most anticipated repeat concert.
