THE Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals finally kicked the door open to enter the win column behind veteran Nat Cosejo.
Cosejo, a 6-foot-3 forward, dropped a career-high 24 points on 65 percent shooting and with nine rebounds, one assist and one block, led the Generals to an 80-75 triumph over erstwhile leader College of St. Benilde in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) seniors basketball tournament.
In his last two outings, Cosejo averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks—numbers that were enough to earn him the nod of the members of the Collegiate Press Corps as the NCAA Player of the Week presented by the Philippine Sports Commission.
EAC’s floor leader beat Letran’s Kurt Reyson, San Beda’s James Kwekuteye, Mapua’s Warren Bonifacio, and San Sebastian College’s Jesse Sumoda for the honor also supported by minor sponsors MNL Kingpin, Tinapayan Festival and Jockey.
“I hope this award will push my confidence, and that of the team’s, further,” Cosejo said. “We lacked confidence before, but now, we hope this confidence goes a long way.”
Cosejo was also named the NCAA All-Star MVP after he led Team Heroes to a 98-95 victory over Team Saints with 16 points and seven rebounds.
