THE Palace on Sunday shrugged off queries on details of the 93rd birthday celebration of former First Lady Imelda R. Marcos in Malacañang during the weekend.
When asked about the event, the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) said it will only issue statements which are relevant to the public.
“We will only be releasing statements on issues where public interest/welfare is involved,” the OPS said.
Photos of the event were shared in some social media posts, with some critics saying it was ill-timed, given the many crises facing the nation.
Palace officials have yet to release any official statement or photos of the event, which was held at the Rizal Hall of Malacañang last Saturday.
This was after the post inauguration party hosted by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. last week at the Rizal Hall, attended by politicians, business tycoons and members of the Marcos family.
One of the most talked about parts of the event were the golden medallions with the picture of Marcos, which were distributed as souvenirs to guests.
