In New York, the Philippine Consulate General was expecting more than 200 Filipinos who have not received their overseas voting ballots to personally cast their votes on Saturday.
As of noontime, 125 overseas voters have voted. The Commission on Elections allowed in person voting in the United States for Filipinos who have not received their ballots three days before the national elections.
Consul General Elmer G. Cato noted the large voter turnout and projects that the number of voters would exceed the more than 10,200 Filipinos who voted in 2016. He said that other than the undelivered ballots, overseas voting had been proceeding smoothly and ballots are being counted daily.
