The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday said that the number of new Covid-19 cases is on a plateau in the National Capital Region (NCR) and all the island groups of the country.
“When we say it’s plateauing, it means tumilgil, nag-plateau siya, so dati bumababa tapos bigla siyang nag-plateau, tumigil ‘yung pagbaba o nag-sustain siya at that level. Ganoon din kung tumaas tapos nag-plateau siya, nag-sustain siya at that level [it stopped, it has plateaued, it stopped from decreasing or it was sustained at that level. The same thing if cases are increasing],” Vergeire explained.
“As we continue to see a plateau in new Covid-19 cases, we highly encourage the public to complete their primary vaccine series and get booster doses to better protect the whole community,” Vergeire said.
As of April 7, 2022, more than 66.5 million or 73.9 percent of our targeted population are already fully-vaccinated against Covid-19.
“On the other hand, we have already more than 1.1 million children fully-vaccinated along with the 9 million fully-inoculated adolescents,” she added.
Vergeire also said that most Covid-19 admissions are mild and moderate cases.
