THE Philippines, represented by Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Jaime Victor B. Ledda and Austria, headed by the delegation of the Department for Asia and Pacific of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs Head Gabriele Meon-Tschürtz, renewed their commitment to pursue stronger political, economic, and people-to-people cooperation during the second Philippines-Austria Political Consultations held via video conference on March 9.
The two sides discussed cooperation in the areas of agriculture, space, cooperation between their foreign-service institutes, combatting child pornography and online exploitation of children, technical-vocational education and training, as well as apostille convention.
They also exchanged views on domestic, multilateral, regional and global issues in the context of the current public-health situation, including the situation in Ukraine; and reiterated the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation, as they highlighted the vital role of international law in the peaceful resolution of disputes among countries.
Meon-Tschürtz characterized the bilateral relations between the countries as a “friendly partnership that continues to produce positive outcomes for both sides.”
