LOS ANGELES—In celebration of the Quincentennial of the Victory at Mactan and the 123rd anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence, the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in this city will hold “Imaging Lapu-Lapu,” an exhibit that will feature art works of top Angono artist and painter Nemi Miranda.
The expo, which was scheduled for launch on June 16 at the LA-PCG’s Community Hall, will showcase about 35 art prints which depict various stages in the life of Lapulapu, as conceptualized by Miranda.
The artist is recognized as the “Father of Imaginative Figurism” and “Angono’s Living Treasure” in his hometown in the province of Rizal for his contributions to the art community.
The exhibit will run for the rest of the month, and will be staged at the LA-PCG’s consular waiting area.
