FILIPINO teachers may now apply for work in Japan under its 2021 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that the Japanese Embassy in the Philippines has started accepting applications for assistant language teachers for the said initiative.
“The request on availment of exchange and teaching program depends on the demand of learning institutions in Japan,” POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia told BusinessMirror in a Viber message.
To qualify for the position, applicants must be a Filipino, proficient in speaking and writing in English, and physically fit, and must have at least a Bachelor’s degree.
Interested applicants may get more information about the program at https://www.jetprogramme.org or the website of the Culture and Education section of the Embassy of Japan.
“All application materials and requirements for the said program must be submitted through couriers to the Japan Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan in the Philippine, 2627 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City 1300,” POEA said in a statement.
The deadline for the application is on January 8, 2021.
Qualified applicants will be selected by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.
POEA will issue the travel exit clearance of the Overseas Employment Certificates through its Direct Hire Facility.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) signed the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the Japanese government for the implementation of JET last year.
