The Little Darling of Bohol, Amorita Resort, is welcoming back guests to come and enjoy once again its pristine and secluded location atop a limestone cliff overlooking the white-sand Alona Beach and the azure-hued Bohol Sea.
Known for its signature personalized service and world-class hospitality, Amorita Resort remains to be the idyllic spot for those who wish to experience luxurious seclusion. During their stay, guests can relish a feeling of exclusivity — from its elegant suites and pool villas, mouthwatering dishes that may only be found on-site, and a private beach cove that only guests can access. The resort also offers a peaceful retreat with nature as this sprawling property boasts of lush greens that surround its 98 elegant suites and villas, and other amenities such as infinity pools, restaurants, and spa.
To adapt to this new era of a heightened focus on cleanliness, health, and safety, Amorita Resort has also built on its current excellent practices to provide the guests, not only with the most memorable experiences but with a safe and tranquil sanctuary through its 4-point C.A.R.E. initiative — short for Cleaning & Safety Protocols, Actions for Health & Well-being, Responsible & Mindful service, and Education & Advocacy. This programme aims to protect both the guests and employees while giving both peace of mind in this new era of travel. It includes setting up sanitizing stations at the arrival areas and other key locations, round-the-clock inspection and cleaning of high-touch surfaces, holding of rooms in between reservations, and the introduction of digital restaurant menus to minimize physical contact.
Coinciding with Amorita Resort’s reopening is the launch of the resort’s latest addition to its gastronomic venture, Turchino, a modern Italian restaurant highlighting the culinary artistry behind pasta, pizza, and other Italian dishes all of which are made only from the freshest ingredients. Its menu features unique and innovative takes on Italian cuisine, combining it with familiar flavors, which sheds new light on Italian classics.
All of Turchino’s offerings — from the pasta and pizzas to the appetizers, mains, and desserts — are created by our experienced chefs using only the freshest ingredients to maintain the quality of each dish. Instead of using the instant pasta readily available in stores, Turchino creates every pasta noodle in-house to complement the flavors of the sauces. This experience gives the diners an exclusive and unique treat every time they dine in the restaurant. The pizzas also deserve merit — the pizza doughs are made daily to ensure their freshness, while the pizzas are assembled upon order and baked in the restaurant’s own brick oven to give each pizza a distinct smoky flavor and an irresistible and chewy crust.
Other must-tries include Mozzarella d’Oro (deep-fried battered mozzarella cheese with cherry tomato marmelata and fried basil leaves as garnish), Bistecca con Porcini (grilled sirloin steak with porcini mushroom dry rub served with sauteed greens), and Crispy Tiramisu Tower (layers of meringue and mascarpone cream cheese filling topped with grated chocolate).
Inspired by the blue-hued Bohol Sea, Turchino /tur-chee-no/ was adapted from the Italian word, turchino /tur-kee-no/ which directly translates to “deep blue.” The sea theme is carried throughout the restaurant’s elements such as the subtle blue hues in the decor and the painted canvas on the backside of the menu.
For those who are in Metro Manila and have yet to travel to Bohol, Amorita Resort also introduces 9Saddle to give diners in the metro a taste, literally, of what’s waiting for them in Panglao. Behind the same team as the resort’s acclaimed restaurants, 9Saddle was originally intended to be a test kitchen for the dishes that will be served in the resort’s restaurants. But due to the disruptions in the operations because of the pandemic, this place has been converted to an alternative means of livelihood for displaced staff instead. Hence, the team has started baking pizzas inspired by the flavors of Turchino.
Similar to the pizzas of Turchino, 9Saddle’s pizzas are also made in-house using unbleached flour and other premium ingredients. The pizza doughs are fermented to build a distinct flavor profile and to create an addicting texture that is altogether chewy, airy, and light. Plus, the doughs also get a punch of probiotics from the fermentation to give your guts a healthier boost. There are four available flavors to choose from: Four Cheese, Margherita Moderna, Salami, and Spicy Salsiccia. Interested diners who wish to have a taste of 9Saddle’s pizzas may reach out to any of its social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) to order.
