A TRUCK driver leaving a subdivision in Antipolo City accidentally got his vehicle snared in telephone and electric wires early Saturday morning, subsequently bringing down a huge concrete post of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT).
The force caused the PLDT post to bend over and hang precariously over the road at the intersection of Sumulong Highway in Barangay Mambugan, Antipolo. A biker was hurt by the accident but was taken care of by Antipolo first responders.
The incident happened around 4:30 am on Saturday, according to traffic enforcer Nestor Daet.
Robert Sumoot, 40, driver of the ArnCab truck, said he accidentally hit the overhead cables as he navigated his truck out of Francisville Village in Antipolo City.
Sumoot said he didn’t see the hanging wires because it was still very dark when he came out of their garage. He left early because the homeowners had advised them to get rid of the trucks in the neighborhood. He was supposed to bring the truck to its warehouse in Marikina when the incident happened.#
