FORMER senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 but is making quick recovery, his spokesman-lawyer Atty. Victor Rodriguez said on Tuesday.
The former senator’s results were confirmed by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and he is now in an “isolation area,” added Rodriguez.
“When I got back from Europe, I went straight to a hospital the next day, March 14, 2020 to be examined, as I was having some chest pains and I wanted to know my state of health since the coronavirus was spreading,” Rodriguez quoted Marcos as saying.
Marcos, however, said he decided to go home as the hospital he went to was teeming with people, “so that patients ahead of me can be given attention, given they may be having worse symptoms.”
The only time Marcos left his bedroom was on March 22, to go to the emergency of the same hospital after he experienced difficulty in breathing, Rodriguez said. Then, the Covid-19 test was done and he was advised to undergo self-quarantine.
“From March 13 until now, he has strictly followed the health protocol for PUIs [persons under investigation] and diligently follows all medical advice, including the constant use of safety masks and self-quarantine, like a simple, responsible and ordinary patient,” said Rodriquez.
