Innovative smartphone brand OPPO continues to be a market leader this year through investing heavily on their research and development to improve their phones’ quality and performance. OPPO is fairly new in the Philippines, five years to be exact, but the brand has already been vastly embraced by Filipinos.
“OPPO has come a long way in terms of product development, putting it alongside the big international players. Quality and innovation is embedded in the DNA of the brand. Our unhindered vision of an intelligent future has allowed us to continuously remain an industry leader,” said Jane Wan, OPPO Vice President for Marketing
“In the Philippines, understanding the local culture and the Filipino consumer behaviour is very integral to our success. But it’s also our diverse offerings and groundbreaking smartphone technologies that has helped propel the brand to become one of the most successful tech brands in the Philippines,” Wan added.
Globally, OPPO has a total of six research centers in key global locations: Silicon Valley, Yokohama, Shenzen, Shanghai, Beijing and Dongguan to address ever-demanding needs of consumers for more meticulous and innovative technology. OPPO also invested a total of USD 1.43B for research and development alone to explore new smartphone innovations.
Innovative mobile phone features
As of March 2019, OPPO has exceeded 35,000 global patent applications. Some features pioneered by OPPO would be the SuperVOOC 3.0 Flash Charging which is the brand’s trademarked rapid-charge technology and the innovative rising module of the front camera of the latest F11 Pro which allows for a full panoramic view on the screen.
During the Mobile World Congress 2019 event in Barcelona, OPPO boasts the new 10x hybrid zoom which will be first introduced as part of the key features of the latest Reno line.
According to Wan, while each brand strives to be unique, the past arrays of releases have shown how smartphones can appear very similar. The market craves to see something new and something different that stands out.
“This is where our pursuit for innovative design comes in. We strive to see what we can do further, to make it as unique as possible while still providing the best user experience. Take for example our Waterdrop screen and the F11 Pro’s Rising front camera module. They are both unobtrusive, and adds to the overall product aesthetic. Many of our consumers also love the color gradients on our phones’ classy yet playful designs,” Wan mentioned.
Also according to Wan, OPPO is currently in the process of developing new innovations for the future. The smartphone giant does a lot of quality testing to meet the standards that are at par with the brand’s vision before releasing new products and technologies.
One step ahead of the competition
“OPPO is the first commercial smartphone to roll out 5G in Europe. We are equipping our smartphones with 5G capability because this is where the world is heading. 5G is becoming the new norm in the world of cellular network technology. However, as we always strive to be one step ahead, our vision is also already set in the future by eyeing 6G technology. And taking on the latest innovations, we are proud to present in the Philippines this June our latest flagship smartphone, OPPO Reno series that boasts a panoramic full screen display for an even enjoyable screen viewing, and the 10x hybrid zoom camera technology with up to 60x digital zoom,” Wan concluded.
The OPPO Reno series is set to be officially launched in the Philippines this June, the latest of the OPPO smartphones that is equipped with superior camera technology and handset design.
