PETER Joemel Advincula, alias “Bikoy”, on Monday failed to appear before the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the preliminary investigation on the estafa case filed against him for his failure to hand over the prizes and wages for the winners and staff of a beauty pageant which he organized in 2008.
Advincula is the self-confessed “Bikoy” in the series of online videos titled “Ang Totoong Narcolist” where accused President Duterte, some members of his family and allies of being involved in illegal drug trade in the country.
He later admitted that his accusations were all fabricated and that the opposition Liberal Party and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV hired him to appear in the videos.
The estafa complaint was filed at the DOJ by Arven E. Valmores of Ardeur World Marketing, which was used by Advincula to organize the pageant
He said Advincula hired a production director and staff for the pageant, “Miss Scenti Essencia Ambassadress 2018” which was completed on August 11, 2018.
But, Valmores said Advincula disappeared without paying the staff and the winners forcing him to shell out over P300,000 to save his company’s reputation.
Valmores’ lawyer Benjamin De los Santos told reporters that Advincula or a representative failed to appear during Tuesday’s preliminary investigation despite receiving a copy of the complaint and the subpoena sent to his address in Barangay Tupas, Donsol in Sorsogon.
“If he does not show up, the prosecution will resolve the complaint based on the evidence that we have presented,” De los Santos said.
Advincula has 15 days to submit his counter-affidavit or else the DOJ is expected to resolve the complaint based on the evidence submitted by the complainant.
