STARTING July 1, Manila Electric Co. Senior Vice President Alfredo “Al” S. Panlilio will replace Ernesto “Eric” R. Alberto as PLDT Inc.’s chief revenue officer.
Alberto was offered “opportunities” at First Pacific Ltd. Co., the Hong Kong-listed holding company, where PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan sits as CEO.
“We would like to thank Eric for his 16 long years of service and loyalty. Under his watch, PLDT Enterprise rose to become the leading force that it is in the market today,” Pangilinan said on Thursday.
Alberto was instrumental in turning around the telco’s consumer wireless business, while sustaining the robust double-digit growth of both the home and enterprise verticals.
Panlilio returns to PLDT, from which he first joined as SVP for the Corporate Business Group in 1999, and was then tasked to lead the Carrier Business Group years later.
He then joined Meralco in 2010. Panlilio was credited to helping the company generate P300 billion worth of revenues and leading a huge work force.
“I would like to welcome back Al and call on everyone in PLDT and Smart to provide him with all the needed support, and, to continue working closely together to pursue the digital transformation of our business and to provide the best possible service to our customers and the public,” Pangilinan said.
