Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III on Monday said he is ready to face investigation for alleged graft and corruption by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC).
In a phone interview, Bello said he is just waiting of the formal complaint to be filed by the PACC.
“They have not asked me to reply to any complaint against me…I am ready to answer if the need for it arises,” the labor chief said.
Bello issued the statement after he was tagged by PACC Commissioner Manuelito Luna as among the three Cabinet officials that are now being investigated for possible corrupt practices.
The two other officials are Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director General and former Bureau of Customs Commissioner Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña, as well as National Commission on Indigenous People Chairman Leonor Oralde-Quintayo.
Luna assured the three officials will be given due process by the PACC in its ongoing probe on the complaints against them.
In July 2018 a recruitment agency owner, Amanda Araneta, asked PACC to investigate Bello for supposedly committing graft, when he accepted her cash and cell-phone gift to him.
Bello denied the allegation.
