CLARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT—Starting November 12, five new daily flights to Puerto Princesa, Cebu, Caticlan, Tagbilaran and San Vicente, Palawan, will be operated by Royal Air via this airport.
In a statement on Monday, Royal Air Charter Service Inc., a Philippine-registered air carrier, said it will be mounting daily direct flights from this airport to the said destinations after being given the authority to operate as a commercial scheduled airline with both domestic and international flights by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) on July 26.
“These new destinations promoting tourist attractions in the southern Philippines will definitely draw in more foreigners wanting to visit the country via Clark,” said Alex Cauguiran, president of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC).
The air carrier will be using the British Aerospace (BAe) AVRO 146-100 aircraft, a four-engine 97-seater regional airliner, for its daily services.
Beginning November 12, daily flights between Clark and Puerto Princesa depart at 7 a.m. and arrives at 10 a.m. The Caticlan flight departs at 11 a.m. and arrives at 1:10 p.m. Tagbilaran service leaves at 2:10 p.m. and arrives at 5 p.m. San Vicente, Palawan, service leaves at 7 a.m. and arrives at 9:30 a.m.; and the Cebu service leaves at 10:30 a.m. and arrives at 1:10 p.m.
CRK currently hosts 436 flights per week with 274 domestic and 162 international flights, and records an average of 7,000 passengers daily.
As of September 17, this airport has already serviced 1.8 million passengers.
Royal Air was established on August 22, 2002, and provides domestic and international non-scheduled airline and cargo services to Manila, Batanes, Cauayan, Cebu, Laoag, Kalibo, Maconacon, San Vicente (Palawan), Macau and Clark starting November this year.
