THE Education Centre of Australia (ECA) officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mapúa University on July 13 at the Mapúa Intramuros campus, pertaining to the short study program facilitated by ECA, which provides weeklong learning opportunities to students in Sydney, Australia.
The program offers a variety of areas of focus, such as project management, information and communications technology, human resources, marketing, finance, accounting, leadership and entrepreneurship.
Apart from the academic immersion, the program also allows the students to further widen their socio-cultural horizons by going on industry visits and meeting fellow students and mentors throughout the program.
Through this partnership, ECA and Mapúa aim to help provide a bridge to Filipino students so that they may become globally ready professionals that the country can be truly proud of. With programs such as this, the local colleges and universities can only look forward to better fortifying the support they can present and offer to their students, particularly in terms of sustainable employability—no matter where in the world they may be.
The MOU signing was attended by (from left) Grace Halcon, Austrade Education Manager; Carmina Palmos, ECA Philippines Project Manager; Engr. Rosette Eira Camus, Mapúa Director, International Programs and Career Services; Sheina Salvador, Mapúa Coordinator for International Students; Adelina David, ECA Philippines Country Manager; and Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, Mapúa President and Chief Executive Officer.
