HARD rock music icons Guns N’ Roses (GNR) is set to electrify their Filipino fans in the flesh, in the country, as MMI Live and Prestige Worldwide bring the band’s “Not In This Lifetime” tour to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on November 11.
The tour has so far generated outstanding worldwide reviews: Rolling Stone dubbed it as “the triumphant return of one of the most important bands in rock music history.” LA Weekly noted it’s “everything fans could hope for,” while The Washington Times said the show delivers a set of “inspired surprises.”
Following the group’s formation in 1985 and throughout these years, GNR has injected unbridled, unrivalled, and unstoppable attitude into the rock scene. The band continues to captivate the entire world since their 1987 release Appetite for Destruction—the best-selling debut album of all time in the US. The seven-time platinum Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II once occupied the top two spots of the Billboard Top 200 upon their issue in 1991. Over the course of the past decade, GNR has performed sold-out stadium shows and headlined festivals worldwide following the critically-acclaimed release of 2008’s RIAA platinum-certified Chinese Democracy. Six studio albums later, GNR remains one of the most important and influential acts in music history and continues to set the benchmark for live performances.
Their current line-up includes pioneers Axl Rose (vocals, piano), Duff McKagan (bass) and Slash (lead guitar), as well as latest additions Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), and Melissa Reese (keyboard).
After the local GNR fans club had exclusive access to purchase passes in advance on June 8, regular tickets went on sale to the general public on June 9 via Ticketworld (www.ticketworld.com.ph) and SM Tickets outlets (www.smtickets.com).
