TWO companies under telecommunications giant PLDT Inc. have struck a partnership agreement to deliver pay-television content to commercial establishments, hotels, resorts and hospitals, ranking officials said on Monday.
Eric Alberto, who sits as chief revenue officer at the digital services provider, said the deal struck by PLDT Enterprise and Cignal TV enhances the group’s content offerings to its corporate customers.
With the said partnership, the enterprise arm of PLDT can now offer Internet protocol television (IPTV) services to its customers. IPTV allows the broadcast of Cignal TV programs via the Internet.
“This collaboration with Cignal TV truly enhances our significance as a partner for businesses not just to deliver fixed and wireless services, but to become a more valuable technology-solutions provider,” he said.
Such a partnership, PLDT SVP Juan Victor Hernandez said, addresses the entertainment needs of the group’s customers, particularly resorts, hotels and hospitals.
“This partnership leverages on the extensive capabilities of the PLDT Group to offer innovative combinations that provide enterprises the best solutions from both market leaders, with PLDT’s extensive Fiber coverage and Cignal TV’s premium content and leadership in the pay-TV space,” he said.
For her part, Jane Basas, president of Cignal TV, said the alliance between the two companies is a natural expansion for her group.
“This partnership is not only good for the group’s enterprise-client base but is also a logical next step in bringing together unparalleled access and quality content to as many Filipinos as possible,” she said.
Alberto said PLDT is now “partnering with several upcoming hotels in Metro Manila to include IPTV solutions for their connectivity requirements.”
