The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will continue to grow its network of Negosyo Centers for the rest of the year, aiming to establish 47 more this year and putting it on track of achieving its target number of centers for the year.
The DTI announced the opening of 47 more Negosyo Centers for the year, allocating P394 million to reach its 2016 target of establishing 150 centers.
The Regional Operations Group of DTI has, thus far, opened 103 centers, according to a news statement as of the first half of the year, bringing to 252 the total number of centers opened, so far, since the program was launched in 2014.
The Go Negosyo Act mandates the creation of Negosyo Centers nationwide, to spur development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Among the services offered in the Negosyo Centers are business-registration assistance, business-advisory services, and monitoring and evaluation of MSME business practices.
Of the total number of centers, 162 are in Luzon, while 46 and 44 centers are in the Visayas and Mindanao, respectively.
With the Negosyo Centers, the DTI has assisted 178,681 existing or new entrepreneurs and 61,678 potential entrepreneurs.
