THE National Power Corp. (Napocor) Board on Monday announced the appointment of a new head of the Mindanao Generation (MinGen) group.
Napocor President Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita said the Napocor Board approved on December 3 the appointment of Dadelio C. Corpuz, an engineer, as the new vice president of MinGen Group.
Corpuz took over the position vacated by former MinGen Vice President Rudy Brioso who retired from the service in June.
Corpuz started his career in Napocor 39 years ago, where he literally rose from the ranks starting as an associate electrical construction engineer in 1976. His mixed exposure in substation and transmission-line construction, operation and maintenance, fuel management, independent power producer contracts management, operations planning and materials management has contributed a lot to his wealth of experience in the industry.
He is currently a member of the Grid Management Committee, the technical arm of the Energy Regulatory Commission, representing large generator. The new VP for MinGen held the position of plant manager in Agus 4 and 5 Hydroelectric Plant Complex for 12 years before his appointment.
The Napocor-MinGen Group is home to the Agus and Pulangi Power Plant complexes, that supply electricity to power consumers in the region. MinGen contributes more than 50 percent to the total electricity requirements of Mindanao.
