REAL-ESTATE broker Re/Max Philippines said it hopes to convert thousands of the country’s independent property brokers into franchise holders in the next two years on brisk business.
Michelle Perlas, the company’s country manager, said the US-based company hopes to have some 200 franchise holders of Re/Max by 2017.
“We hope to convert many independent brokerage companies out there into one of our holders,” Perlas said during the company’s launch last week.
She said that according to their estimates, there are about 8,000 independent brokerages, which will be on top of the individual brokers operating in Metro Manila alone.
“We want to expand our reach in the Visayas and Mindanao in the coming months,” Perlas said.
Each franchise holder will have to pay some P880,000 to use the Re/Max brand name. Franchisees are enabled to learn the ropes of property brokering via the package that allows online learning for the uninitiated while allowing the seasoned broker to set up their operation much faster.
Re/Max currently has 20 affiliates with 100 agents and was established in the Philippines in 2012.
The company was founded in Denver, Colorado, by Dave and Gail Liniger in 1973, and claims to be the world’s top real-estate franchise leader. It said its approach is different from the more known model of business listing and brokerage entities that attracts clients to their individual service. It said it has a network of affiliates who chooses the products that will be promoted or brokered to the market.
All affiliates and their agents benefit on the strength of the brand and are equipped with live training events, 24/7 online continuing education programs and necessary tools to stay on top of the industry, the company said.
