THE Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) is soliciting bids for the security services for various plants and facilities owned by the government.
The facilities include Agus hydroelectric power-plant units 1,2,4,5,6 and 7 hydropower plants and Power Barge (PB) 104.
PSALM President Lourdes Alzona said in a text message that the auction is limited to the procurement of security services for the said assets. The facilities are not up for auction.
“That’s the provision of required manpower security for the operation of the said plants,” she said.
PSALM has allocated a budget of P23.6 million for the procurement of security services for Agus 1 and 2 hydroelectric power plants; P8.6 million for Agus 4; P8.25 million for Agus 5; P12.6 million for Agus 6 and 7; and P2.7 million for PB 104.
In all, PSALM has set aside a budget of P55.75 million.
“PSALM, through its 2015 corporate operating budget and to be included in its 2016 corporate operating budget, intends to apply the [P55.75 million] being the approved budget for the contract to payments for the procurement of security services for various plants and facilities,” it said in its bid invite.
A prebid conference will be held on September 17, while the bid opening is scheduled on September 29.
