A P120-million road project that would ease traffic flow in Mabalacat City is set for implementation, the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) announced.
CDC said construction of an interconnecting route, called the Clark East Perimeter Road, from the Mabalacat Gate to Balibago in Angeles City along the east perimeter fence of the free port, will start soon.
The road project would decongest MacArthur Highway and would serve as a bypass route.
Alveen Tabag, CDC vice president for engineering services, said the target completion of Clark East Perimeter Road is March 2016.
“The Clark interconnecting route is one of the priority projects for this year,” Tabag said.
The estimated P120-million project is being funded by CDC as part of the agency’s parallel development programs that would spur progress in localities contiguous to Clark Field.
Urban Integrated Consultancy Inc. is the winning bidder as the design consultant of the approximately six-kilometer road project. UICI is set to sign a contract with the state-run corporation.
The CDC Engineering Services Group said that Clark East Perimeter Road is approximately six kilometers, will entail the construction of drainage facilities, a bridge spanning the Quitangil Creek and will initially be built with two lanes but with an expansion area for a four lane road.
