MATHEMAGIS Singapore Maths, an enrichment program for 4- to 12-year-old children with aversion to learning mathematics, will be one of the featured exhibitors in Franchise Asia Philippines 2015 International Franchise Expo slated from June 12 to 14 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila.
The program has been proven effective in empowering children with problem-solving skills and 21st-century learning tools such as creative analysis and critical thinking. Explorarium Co. Ltd. CEO Ina Cuisia-Sehwani, the company’s Chief Program Director, Educator Joanne Tabora-Sison and Chief Operations Director Julienne Sison-Vital, who operate Mathemagis in the Philippines, pride themselves with their combined remarkable teaching experience of over 18 years as they share effective approaches to teaching and learning math through challenging activities but in a fun, easier and exciting way.
MatheMagis employs a unique five-prong learning framework that enhances problem-solving skills through a holistic and integrated approach instead of using rote learning and memorization. Mathemagis’s logically sequenced curriculum is based on the Singapore Ministry of Education’s program that presents math, using a “concrete-pictorial-abstract” approach to learning which increases understanding of math concepts for all students” whether they are users or non-users of Singapore math at school.
To further stimulate interest and increase their understanding, teachers encourage children to explore math concepts in different ways—through hands on materials, worksheets, books and special tablet activities. With MatheMagis’s program, all children can actually be good, if not great, in mathematics.
Teachers of MatheMagis are rigorously trained in the Singaporean method to equip them with a new way of thinking about math and with diverse teaching strategies, and are exposed to different techniques of working with students for them to better address the different learning needs of children.
Currently, MatheMagis Singapore Maths now has six branches in the country—Serenda in Taguig City, Active Fun High Street in BGC, Cedar Makati City, Timog in Quezon City, Shaw in Mandaluyong, and SM Pasig.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and renowned medical director of Z Medical Aesthetics in Singapore Dr. Z’Shen Teo led the opening of its Serendra branch on May 9. The company is keen on increasing its franchised outlets and is currently on the lookout for partners who share their passion in helping more Filipino students learn and appreciate math.
