MAGALANG, Pampanga—Gov. Lilia Pineda urged on Wednesday the 835 newly graduates of Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP) of the Regional Training Center (RTC) 3 “Kapanalig” Class 2013-01 to become “heroes of the people.”
Pineda, guest speaker during the graduation ceremony of Kapanalig Class 2013-01, said that as new police officers, they are bound to make their lives more meaningful through dedicated public service whose main goal is to protect and serve the people.
She also expressed gratitude to the parents and wives of the new police officers for their deep understanding and full support to their new profession as protectors of the people, and for allowing their sons, daughters and husbands to become police officers for public safety.
Upon learning from Supt. Rodel A. Pastor, regional training coordinator, that the training center needs a covered court for sports activities and other training programs Pineda promised the construction of a covered court with dormitory facilities for the trainees.
Pineda also said she will encourage her fellow governors in Central Luzon to help the graduates to equip themselves with firearms and ammunition they need to perform their duties when they are deployed in their respective provinces.
During the graduation rites, Pineda and Chief Supt. Ronald Santos, Central Luzon Police Command officer in charge, conferred certificates of merit to the top 3 graduates: Police Officers 1 Sherold Datugan, Benny Cabiltes and Marie Joy Trucilla.
At least 28 graduates were conferred leadership awards.
A total of P835,000 was released to graduates as “gift” for their successful training.
