TEAM members from Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. recently joined the 2014 International Coastal Cleanup held at the Manila Bay area. Initiated by its social and humanitarian arm Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation (TMPF), volunteers from Toyota dealers, TMPF scholars from Don Bosco Technical Institute, Technological University of the Philippines, and Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology cleared the bay area from trash and other unnecessary items.
Toyota has consistently participated in the annual international environmental event aimed at clearing marine debris from waterways all over the world. It is a staunch advocate of environmental conservation and implements initiatives that conserve energy and water resources and mitigate the environmental impact of its manufacturing processes.
Toyota maintains an 11-hectare Toyota Forest in its headquarters inside the Toyota Special Economic Zone in Santa Rosa, Laguna, and, on a larger scale, supports the reforestation of a 10-hectare area at the Makiling Forest Reserve through its partnership with the University of the Philippines Los Baños Foundation.
