IT’S confirmed: Chinese President Xi Jinping will be coming to the country next week.
Malacañang officially announced on Thursday the Chinese leader will arrive in the country for a state visit on November 20 and 21 after accepting the invitation of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.
Duterte extended the invitation to Xi Jinping in 2016.
During the two-day visit, Duterte is expected to raise multiple concerns with his Chinese counterpart.
“The two leaders will exchange views on areas of mutual concern and chart the course for the future of Philippines-China bilateral relations,” Presidential Spokesman and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador S. Panelo said in a statement.
Xi had visited the country in 2015 to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ meeting, which was hosted by Manila.
