Gabbi Garcia is living her best life right now. Following her self-produced single “All I Need” and starring alongside Ruru Madrid in the GMA prime-time series Sherlock Jr., she’s also the only GMA star nominated this year at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards as Favorite Pinoy Newbie.
She recently flew to Japan for a Maybelline campaign and met the international supermodel Gigi Hadid. And earlier this month, it was finally announced that Gabbi is the newest Filipina ambassador for the brand.
With her pretty face, people say she can get away with anything but Gabbi claims otherwise. She dreams to have it all, and she wakes up to work hard for it and achieve it one by one.
“I can still remember my promise to myself when I turned 18. This is just the beginning for me, and right now I’m enjoying the thrill of challenging myself into different things,” the GMA star claims.
Gabbi has been juggling different schedules—from studying in Meridian International College as a Music Business Management major, to several shoots here and abroad. Now, she can’t wait to share all the things that she has lined up for this year. She knows she’s in control, and she wants to inspire young girls to aspire for the same.
“I have a lot of goals that I plan to put in reality, and I’m really focused on that. I want to concentrate more on my music, and I also want to do films this year, so hopefully I could do that. They say to take it easy, and I know I need to chill, but I’m really feeling this pull to strive harder.”
For millennials, it’s believed they feel the most pressure to leave a mark and find their rightful place in the world. So how does she handle the work?
“I find the right balance with my family. They’re really the ones that keep me grounded, and I have my sister to keep me in check. When I need to pause, they tell me to breathe. I’m thankful I have a supportive family,” she shares.
She recently flew to Thailand for another photo shoot, and she also took this opportunity to pause and unwind. “I just love the water and I’m so happy I had the opportunity to experience the majesty of Okura Prestige, one of the best skyscrapers in the world. It has the protruding infinity pool, and I loved it.”
Gabbi also plans to return to Hawaii for a quick beach getaway with the family, but before that, she needs to prepare for a music festival this April. “I’m excited to be part of this music festival, which is a fashion show at the same time. Last year I was only part of the audience and now I’m excited because I get to perform.”
With her grit to succeed, Gabbi can surely tick off each item in her bucketlist. And through her online show with GMA ONE Online Exclusives, #GOALS, she’s able to share with her followers some tips on how to achieve what is essential in one’s life.
