KALIBO, Aklan—Visual artists in this province are extending their share of promoting local tourism through art and their paintings.
Erlinda Quimpo Wilson, one of the local painters, said the exhibit will run from January 9 to February 28. The venue is at the Aklan Capitol Lobby.
The event, dubbed as “Pinta Grasya Year 6,” is being initiated by the Lakbay Kulay Aklan chapter. The Aklan provincial government and the Provincial Tourism Office are also partners.
“We have been doing this activity for the past six years with the hope of not only showcasing the art works of our local talents; Aklanon international and national artists will also feature their visual arts,” Wilson said.
Among the exhibitors are Mario Perucho Jr., Alreed Zaspa, Wilfredo Custodio, Tee Jay Dadivas, Laurence Niduelan, Roy Ibarra Vicente and Merlie Tabiolo.
“This year we only not expect additional revenues, but also lure young visual artists to join our organization. Already, Lakbay Kulay has registered hundreds of members,” she added.
