Philippine Gaming Management Corp. (PGMC) has tapped Globe Business, the corporate information and communications technology arm of Globe Telecom, for the use of G Suite and secure e-mail gateway (SEG) to maximize business-efficiency and to strengthen its cyber-security measures, respectively.
Through the partnership with Globe Business, PGMC was able to acquire G Suite licenses allowing employees to work better together via secure and reliable workplace tools for e-mail, calendar, text and video chat, as well as document creation, project web sites, and online storage and sync. PGMC also acquired SEG to comply with the e-mail encryption-policy requirement of being an ISO 27001 certified company.
“This year, we availed of G Suite, because we wanted to get away with the restrictions that we were experiencing with our previous e-mail system. The migration of our corporate e-mail to G Suite was very smooth and training was very easy. [The] Initial troubleshooting was also very easy with the help of Globe Business—it lessened the birth pains of implementing a new system,” said Tan Eng Hwa, PGMC vice president.
Globe Business Senior Vice President Peter Maquera added, “Globe Business is all about using technology to maximize our clients’ operating efficiency, which will translate to increased savings and profitability. Through G Suite and SEG, we are able to help PGMC to increase productivity, reduce information technology cost by eliminating the need to purchase and maintain servers, as well as keep their most important corporate data safe.”
Powered by Google Cloud, G Suite allows users to communicate faster and more conveniently with Gmail. It provides storage for up to 30 gigabytes of e-mail per user, advanced spam filtering, lightning-fast message search, integrated text, voice and multiperson video chat.
G Suite users can also arrange meetings and organize schedules with Google Calendar; experience hassle-free file management with Google Drive, which can be accessed anytime and anywhere, from any device; conduct real-time collaboration with Google Docs and Google Sheets; and make beautiful presentations together with Google Slides.
With SEG, enterprises can secure the overall access and content of their e-mail accounts and services from hackers. SEG has two main benefits: Advanced protection, which prevents advanced persistent e-mail threats, like ransomware, spoofing, phishing and business e-mail compromise; and data-loss protection, which ensures sensitive data is protected by a security that meets stringent policy compliance requirements.
